Software Engineering Co-op Student
I am a third year Software Engineering student at Concordia University, enrolled in the Co-op option. This means I have to complete three work terms during my studies. I am interested in using new technologies and applying my knowledge to problems I haven't dealt with before. I have often participated in hackathons with the sole objective of learning a new language or framework. During these hackathons my team would also focus on building applications to solve real world problems.
I have been very interested in backend development lately since it is comprised of many complex problems. Having learned Scala last summer (2017), I have started researching and working more with functional languages and have adapted my coding patterns to reflect functional programming patterns.
I have been given the role of Software Engineering and Computer Science Director of Competitions for the 2017-2018 school term with the main goal to select and train a team of highly skilled students who will attend competitions. If you are a Concordia student wanting to compete, do not hesitate to contact me and I will help you anyway I can. It have always held the belief that out of class projects are one of the most important things a student can do to improve as a developer.
